Sarah L. Emel, Ph. D.
Principle Investigator
I am an assistant professor in the Department of Biology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Previously, she was the Darwin Fellow for the Organismic and Evolutionary Biology Graduate Program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where I worked with Chris Sutherland and Lisa Komoroske and a postdoc in Rachel Spigler's Lab at Temple University. I earned my Ph.D. working with Andrew Storfer in the School of Biological Sciences at Washington State University in 2015. Previously, I earned a M.S. in Biological Sciences from The University of Tulsa in 2009, and a B.A. from Dartmouth College in 2006. In addition to my research interests, I aim to inspire future generations to appreciate biology and conservation of biodiversity through a combination of teaching and mentorship. Check out my letter featured on the Letters to a Pre-Scientist website!
